How Do You Fit a Ballistic Helmet Properly?
A helmet that fits badly protects badly, because it shifts on impact. Set the sizing system so the shell sits level — not tilted back — with the front edge roughly two finger-widths above the eyebrows. Tighten the chin strap so the helmet does not move when you shake your head, but not so tight that it restricts your jaw. Check it with everything you actually wear: a headset, eye protection, a cap underneath. A helmet fitted bare-headed in a warehouse and worn with comms in the field is two different fits.

Keep it out of direct sun when stored — UV is the slow killer of aramid. Do not leave it in a hot vehicle for weeks. Inspect after any significant impact: a shell that has taken a serious hit may look intact and be structurally compromised, which is why any ballistic helmet that has done its job once should be replaced, not reused.
